| UK MMR Vaccine Trial Demo Fixed For 25 March | ||
When Tuesday 25 March 2008 8.00 am – 5.30 pm Where General Medical Council Regents Place 350 Euston Road LONDON NW1 3JN Transport Nearest Tubes: Great Portland Street, Regent’s Park, Warren Street or Euston Square Nearest Rail Station: Euston ************************************ The General Medical Council Hearing of Dr Andrew Wakefield, Professor Simon Murch and Professor John Walker-Smith resumes on Tuesday, 25 March 2008 when the case for the Defence will be presented. The hearing has been trumped up by the GMC at the instigation of the Government and the pharmaceutical industry to bury the damage done to thousands of children by the MMR vaccine. The prosecution was launched at the request of the then Health Secretary John Reid and is based entirely on the flawed allegations of journalist Brian Deer and pharmaceutical industry lobbyist, Dr Evan Harris MP. NO PARENT HAS COMPLAINED AGAINST THE DOCTORS. Above all, the hearing is designed to serve as a warning to any other doctors who put their necks on the line to serve the interests of their patients rather than the rich and powerful. Outside the GMC parents and families of children who have either died or been damaged will gather to support the doctors who listened, and demand that more questions be asked of the Government on behalf of the children we represent. COME JOIN US The hearing resumes day after Easter Monday and so many schools, though not all will be on holiday. Please bring everyone that you can to our rally - Mums, Dads, brothers, sisters, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, relatives and passers-by to show support. Bring big photos of your kids if you can't bring the child. Bring Flags, Banners, Placards, but most importantly it’s vital that you join us! Dress up! A kangaroo or two wouldn't go amiss for a ‘kangaroo court’ or a bound and gagged doctor to illustrate how the uncomfortable work done by these doctors has been stifled in favour of government policy and pharmaceutical industry profits. We are in the throes of an autism epidemic – a man-made catastrophe. Hiding vaccine damage has doubly destroyed the lives of many of our children – 1 child in every 100 diagnosed with autism in the UK: not all are vaccine damaged and not all are MMR damaged, but many are. Meanwhile, a cynical bureaucratic game is played to deny what many of us have seen with our own eyes. The media will be awaiting the arrival of the three falsely accused doctors. We must tell them that we need these doctors to be allowed to continue working in the UK, and not be struck off. The freedom to study and treat the causes of autism here in our own country and the freedom of science itself are at stake. This is a political trial, and a trial against the interests of patients: it is the pharmaceutical industry and the government bureaucracy battening down the hatches. The persecution of the three doctors has deprived our children of appropriate medical treatment. While there has been sensational nonsense in the media about invasive treatments, our children are in daily pain and distress, and no one apart from us and the doctors cares. As parent/carers we trusted that MMR vaccine was safe – we trusted the government and the medical profession. Now our lives have been ruined because of them. We have paid a high price.
